Lolita Films and TV Shows

Kamikaze Girls

Kamikaze Girls or Shimotsuma Monogatari, a comedy cult movie that was released in Japan on May 29th, 2004, is the greatest Lolita movie today.
Momoko is a seventeen year old who yearns to be part of the Rococo aristocracy. A shame then, as she was born two centuries too late. Ardent loner Momoko is born into the Yakuza heart-land. She feels, how ever, more at home in Versaille than her distant home-town of Shimotsuma, Ibaraki. Her appetite for the lavish doll-like fashion known to it's disciples as the "Lolita" look is insatiable. The uber-rebel Ichiko is a Bosozoku motor-cycle-gang member, on a fifty C.C. scooter. Laugh at your own risk before she knocks your teeth out. In a world is as colorful as Momoko's sweet-filled lunch-box, the path of these two incongruous girls cross one languid summer. Asses are kicked and garments are embroidered.
To many people this movie was the thing that got them into wearing the fashion. Even now this movie is known to almost ever Lolita around the world.  It worked with Baby the Stars Shine Bright and you can tell since its the only brand name thats not censored out. Personally I would rate this movie 9.5 out of 10. Some of the acting is weird to me but I have to remember it is a comedy. Definitely recommend watching if you haven't seen it yet, and if you have seen it watch it again.

Ai Ore! Love Me!

Student Mizuki Sakurazaka looks like a boy and is treated like a prince at her all female Seinoibara High School. She also leads the all girl rock band Burauerozen. They regularly preform at a venue that allows only women. Akira Ahirashi is a student at the all male Kaizan High School. He's treated like a princess at his school because of his feminine face. Akire then sneaks in to watch Burauerozen. He confesses his love to Mizuki... Lets just say you have to watch to find out the rest, but Ai Ore! Love Me! is a film adaptation of the manga with the same name. This film is full of VK and Japanese fashion subculture. The costuming was done by Baby the Stars Shine Bright and h.NAOTO. And yes there is crossdressing involved.
This film was cute and very funny... though translation and subtitles were off a bit, it was still easy to understand what was going on. To be honest I had no idea this movie existed, was browsing through romance on kissasian and found this. I was also surprise to see three Lolita models in the movie, including Misako Aoki.
I would definitely recommend this movie for others. It made me and my boyfriend laugh real hard. To rate it I give it 7.5 out of 10 because of the poor translation and some subtitles missing.

Deka Wanko

Deka Wanko is a manga that was turned into a tv show.

Mister Rococo

The final one is a short film called Mister Rococo. It is a 15 minute film and it includes Baby the Stars Shine Bright.  Basically follows a Lolita who is in love with a man that loves big, pro wrestling girls. Boy, would do anything to get her love back.
I give it a rating of 6 out of 10. Its not a long movie, very short.

I hope you enjoyed these films. I will be doing two more posts for Lolita in anime and Lolita in Manga at a later date.

【h.NAOTO meets MR】

hmMR 【h.NAOTO meets MR】
This new line has lots of lace, delicate fabric, corsets, and asymmetric skirts; creating a new and improved look for the sub style of Ero lolita.

My thoughts on this new line is that I love the asymmetric skirts and how their are many different layers to them. The Tiered Lace Skirt is my favorite because I love all the different laces and fabrics all together and over lapping for a elegant and light feel. I can also see these skirts being used for Gothic Lolita as well as some Punk Lolita. Another item from this release that caught my attention was the Lace Corset.  The lace is beautiful and very Summery. The ruffles on the corset compliment the lace and the delicateness of the corset. And last but not least the Lace Veil Robe is absolutely stunning. It is nice and light and would go with any summer Coord, form Ero to even Sweet.
